Growing up in Killarney, Doireann O’Riordan recalls how her father taught her to plane wood with a hand tool passed down from his father, a carpenter by trade. From then she was hooked on craft, always sketching, designing and creating. Doireann found her passion when she was introduced to goldsmithing at St. John’s College in Cork. Now a graduate of the DCCoI’s renowned Jewellery and Goldsmithing Skills & Design course Doireann has developed her own personal design aesthetic of constructed forms and clean lines, creating contemporary hand-fabricated jewellery with a striking visual impact.
